Abstract

The increase in the prevalence of childhood obesity to be among the countries with the worst data in our environment has coincided in time with the development of primary health care. A critical analysis of the errors that have been able to facilitate this tendency is imposed, not to address the socio-cultural determinants as a whole, the lack of orientation to the health promotion of the health system and the scarce application of intervention methodologies in The family environment is key to understanding some of the aspects to be corrected to try to be more effective from new innovative programs. It justifies and presents the contents of the program “Families + active” that from a multidisciplinary approach shared of childhood obesity, the consideration of the socio-cultural and psychosocial determinants, along with more innovative approaches in the Area of nutritional education and promotion of physical activity and health, aims to renew the approach of the attention to families of children diagnosed with childhood obesity to optimize the role that family and community nursing professionals can develop in the field of health services.
