Abstract

The common pathogenetic basic of most cardiovascular diseases is atherosclerosis, multifactorial process, in whose origins involve various risk factors, among which are dyslipidemia and hypertension. Like arteriosclerosis, osteoporosis has a high prevalence in the population and significant associated morbidity and mortality. It is therefore of great interest to study the possible association between dyslipidemia and hypertension and bone metabolism, in order to promote primary prevention activities with the greatest potential and prioritize interventions on risk factors of these entities. The aim of this study is to characterize the relationship of hypercholesterolemia and hypertension in bone mass in postmenopausal women extremeñas. To all women included in the study we will carried out a complete clinical history and a bone densitometry by DXA.
