Abstract

The first records of Protaetia (Eupotosia) affinis (Andersch, 1797) and P. (E.) mirifica (Mulsant, 1842) for the Badajoz province (the southernmost records in Iberia) are provided, and the known distribution of both cetonids in Extremadura and its Iberian context is updated. Considerations on the chromatic variability of adults and some ecological notes about population sizes, adult behaviour, sex ratio and host tree species are also provided, highlighting the marked preference of P. mirifica for pyrenean oak forests.
