Zusammenfassung
This article answers to some critical remarks made by communication researchers towards text analysis, particularly the argument which accuses it of eliminating the real processes of reception in media discourses and substituting them by the "contents which analysts themselves perceive". To this proposal, the author reconsiders the concept of text or discourse and achieves the analysis of a series of articles published in the paper "EL PAIS" about the Melilla border to African immigration. It analyses the relation of what the text says which what it omits; the discourses with which it identifies itself and the ones which ignores or to which it shows distance.
