Abstract

Classical Islamic philosophy has been always concerned with the integration of Islam into philosophy. However, there has been also some interest in other religions, mainly the Abrahamic ones, and their truthfulness. The article examines the views of al-Kindī, al-Ǧāḥiẓ, al-Fārābī (Alfarabi), the Brethren of Purity, Ibn Sīnā (Avicenna), and Ibn Rušd (Averroes). In addition, the Egyptian philosopher Ḥasan Ḥanafī is studied insofar as he is a representative figure for contemporary thought.
