Abstract

This article analyses examples of the direct or indirect presence of the author in dialogues in Hispanic and European Renaissance texts, paying particular attention to the self-quotation as an argumentative or discursive technique. This practice presents new ways of fantasizing the self, of the writer’s self-awareness and desires to define his or her own figure in the intellectual, social and individual life.
