Resum

Since the ending of the 15th century until the beginning of the 19th, several changes happen in Europe from a political and social point of view. The world of the book will not be oblivious to these changes, developing at the same rate. Regarding bookbinding, it evolves similarly than in western countries, using the same decorative structures outstanding the styles, properly created in the the iberian península, named "mudéjar style" of the 2nd. half of the J Slh century, "plateresco" of the 16th century, ·'Popular Types" of the ending of the 16th. century or decoration of "fans" in the 17th. century. Other innovations can be found such as the decoration of leathers with "valenciana paste" created by the binder José Beneyto y Ríos at the ending of the 18th century.
