Abstract

This text is a succinct and analytical chronicle of the recent International Congress in the Centenary of Primo Levi (1919-2019): Memory and Writing, held at the Complutense University, which together with the CSIC organized it, bringing together around 100 professors and researchers, women and men, senior and young. The reception of the memory and writing of an essential author of the twentieth century was analyzed and discussed, coinciding in the value of his thought and work for our time, highlighting, in addition to his aesthetic originality, very especially his pioneering character about the “duty of memory ” and the testimony of an ethical humanism, which, without ingenuity, fully assumes otherness.
