Abstract

Recent Spanish policies in Education have strongly supported the incorporation of bilingual programmes in the Spanish compulsory educational system (Primary and Secondary levels), and thereafter, at university level, especially in degrees related to teaching. Our paper describes our experience teaching the Music Education subject, which is a part of the Teacher in Primary Education’s curriculum at the Universidad de Castilla-La Mancha's School of Education. Although Spanish autonomous communities have increased the resources on multilingual policies in Education, several difficulties have been observed, which are partially due to the lack of a bilingual curriculum development for Primary Education in general and for Music Education in particular. Considering these premises, in this paper we evaluate some relevant issues and detail certain activities within this experience.
