Abstract

Certain material corresponding to the transitional series between Buntsandstein and Muschelkalk facies have been analyzed in this work. This study is based on Unit T-2, described by Hernando (1977a). lt has a non determined age because of a lack of fossils with chronostratigraphic value, though we can generalize that it corresponds to middle Triassic. A facies analysis and its later grouping in three representative facies associations was realized: two of them correspond to Cuevas de Ayllón Sector and the third one to Vértice de Corralejos. The last studies of these sequences allowed us to define those materials as the result of a tidal flat-estuarine complex sedimentation.
