Abstract
The goal of this paper is twofold. On the one hand, it describes the set of objectives and commitments of the European Union for the decarbonization of economic activity, as well as the governance strategy approved in order to drive this energy transition. On the other hand, main characteristics of the Spanish National Energy and Climate Plan (provisional version) are analyzed. It constitutes the central instrument of this governance strategy for the next decade. This analysis reveals both its positive elements and its main weaknesses
