In this article, among the budgetary policies of the Spanish State, the appropriate State policies are studied, as well as their recent evolution. Some of these policies are not important in amount but for their significance. This is the case with Justice, Defense, Police, Foreign Affairs, as they are global public goods and the core of the State spending policies. The Expenditures on Economic Activities are important for their boost to economic activity. The other activities are especially important since they account for approximately seventy percent of the State Budget, as Expenditures on General Activities. Budget modifications increase the budgets especially in the case of defense. The economic crisis has clearly had an effect by reducing some items, such as Basic Public Services and Expenditures on Economic Activities notably increasing others, such as public debt.
