Evaluación de la impulsividad mediante una tarea de descuento por demora en adictos a la cocaína

Resumen

El descuento por demora (DD) es una medida de impulsividad que describe cómo los reforzadores pierden su valor en la medida en que se demoran. Estudios recientes han asociado altas tasas de DD con la dependencia a drogas. En este estudio se compara la ejecución en una tarea de DD de dos grupos de sujetos: dependientes de la cocaína (n = 15) y sujetos controles no dependientes (n = 15). Se planteó una tarea de DD prototípica en la que los participantes debían elegir entre recibir varias cantidades hipotéticas de dinero disponibles en el momento presente o una suma mayor en diversos momentos futuros. Los resultados indicaron que los dependientes de la cocaína devaluaron más los reforzadores demorados que los sujetos controles no dependientes. Los reforzadores demorados perdían su valor significativamente más rápido en el grupo de dependientes de la cocaína que en el grupo de sujetos controles no dependientes. El paradigma de DD es relevante en la investigación sobre la dependencia de la cocaína y constituye un punto de partida de utilidad para la evaluación y el desarrollo de tratamientos eficaces en este ámbito de intervención.
