Use of photo-elicitation to evoke and solve dilemmas that prompt changes primary school teachers’ visions

Resumen

En este artículo se investiga las posibilidades de la foto-elicitación como procedimiento en la formación del profesorado. Se analiza el proceso de creación de dilemas en cuatro maestras cuya solución les lleva a su desarrollo profesional. Para ello, se indaga el efecto de distintos tipos de intervención de observadores externos en la generación de dilemas durante un proceso concreto de foto-elicitación. El conocimiento perseguido para cumplir con los objetivos del estudio se refiere a inconsistencias entre las metas y las prácticas, y entre dilemas de los docentes. Estas incongruencias son tácitas, con múltiples interpretaciones posibles y, por lo tanto, no son medibles. Por consiguiente, requiere un enfoque interpretativo de investigación centrado en un estudio de casos colectivo. Los resultados muestran que las contradicciones presentadas a las maestras mediante cuestionamientos de su trabajo docente son un elemento suficiente pero no necesario para plantearles dilemas profesionales. La solución de estos ha llevado a cambios de creencias conceptuales y procesuales, y de acciones docentes de las maestras.
