Resumen

The Las Hoyas Subbasin contains the thickest record o f continental deposits of the La Huérguina Limestone Fm. in the Serranía de Cuenca Basin (400 m of alluvial and lacustrine upper Barremian deposits) which developed during the Early Cretaceous intracontinental ritting. This record is the result of a complex paleogeographical evolution tectonically-driven. After several attempts to classify and divide the Las Hoyas recordgenetic stratigraphy and division in unconformity bounded units are proven to be a powerful tool to clearly understand the main events involved in the paleogeographical evolution observed. Four stratigraphic units bounded by local unconformities and paraconformities are proposed. Such unconformities reflect strong changes in the geometry of the basin, the available accomodation space, the sedimentation rates and the location and composition of the source areas. The units proposed might be useful beyond its local definition as some of them show the same tendencies observed at a regional scale for the La Huérguina Fm.
