Resumen

In Maurice Toussaint's pistemic neurosemanties, metaphor is explained in terms of a process that moves from a general state to a specific one, raher tahn distinguishing between literal meanings and figurative meanings in a static aproach,: Metaphor is thus defined in dynamic-topological terms, as an in itical position in this process. Words are "deformable", so that they can undergo this process "in context" eyeclically. Besides offering insights for cognitive operations a dynamic approach to discourse construction, where units including metaphorical constituents are built into larger ones in a general connection process resulting in a constituent structure for discourse. In this way, Toussaint's pioneering insights are validated wthin the framework of a dynamic approach to discourse construction, which has implications for the role of discourse structure in solving the reader's pradox, the existence of different interpretations of the same text.
