Abstract
The archaeological heritage of the Community of Madrid has been the last to be incorporated into the tourist offer of the region due to its aesthetics, state of conservation and difficult interpretation. In 2003, the Plan de Yacimientos Visitables was approved and since then 21 archaeological sites have been conditioned and musealized, in order to make possible their physical and intellectual accessibility. However, the lack of staff in the sites complicates tourist monitoring procedures, both in terms of their volume, their practices and their opinions. This research proposes a systematic procedure to exploit the data collected on the social networks Twitter and Flickr, with the aim of mapping the shared spaces and identify their representations. It is assumed that this type of heritage still has a limited role in recreational practices. The information provided is useful to know the real weight of these sites in leisure experiences and, at a practical level, for the administration who is today reconsidering the Plan.
