Abstract

The aim of this thesis is to analyse and interpret the phenomenon of the ballet russes of Diaghilev from the compilation of the information published in the spanish press, following a diachronic development from its first representation in Madrid in May 1916 to its last perfomance in Spain, in Barcelona, in May 1927. In this way, it is sought to complement, contrast and critically review the previous literature on the artistic tours of the ballet russes company of Diaghilev in Spain, in order to contribute to a greater knowledge of the performance and impact as an artistic event through historical methology, combining archival work with the use of secondary sources.
