Zusammenfassung
This article analyzes the importance of contemporary social transformations to explain fundamental modes of coexistence in the formation of households which, in the case of Spain, make family (and non-family) lifestyles increasingly heterogeneous. Although the characteristics of these Spanish households place our country in a classification usually differentiated from the Central/Northern European, the results, using a theoretical approach and after analyzing the Population Censuses (2001 and 2011), show a growth in the last decade of non-traditional practices, intensified in recent years, starring young people to a greater extent and make it possible to pluralize the forms of domestic coexistence.
