Zusammenfassung

The work suggests that the weakness of domestic demand determines the slowdown in labour productivity in the European economies over the past few decades. It also notes that that (low) rate of productivity growth presents significant differences between the various countries of the EU-15. These differences are related to the different development of domestic demand, but they are also explained by a trade off effect between employment and productivity"
