Revisitant la via menorquinacrisi i permanència d'un model de creixement, 1980-2010

Résumé

This dissertation analyzes the degree of viability and permanence of the so-called Minorcan route of growth – characterized by cross-sector balance – theorized, in 1977, by Farré-Escofet, Marimon and Surís in his work La via menorquina del creixement. With this aim, the current situation of the traditional Minorcan economy sectors are examined, as well as the industry services with more peak (tourism) or greater potential for growth (quaternary and quinary). This way, the dilution of the previous cross-sector balance is intended to see and the projection of the bases for a new Minorcan route of growth is elucidated, based on the tertiary of the economy towards tourism and, above all, of the services of greater value added, quaternary and quinary, complemented with the maintenance of industrial keystrokes.
