Resumen

The Collaborative Mapping project in the Rukara and Huye areas (Rwanda) was a collaborative geography-related work that set the basis for the project. Maps created from scratch were implemented in 2013. In 2014 the detail level was implemented and the spatial analysis was added to classify potential risks. The digitalization process was carried out by local secondary school students, within a participative mapping project called Open Street Map. Four institutions are involved: Spanish Geographers Official Association, University of Alicante, National University of Rwanda and the NGO for development called Nueva Fraternidad from Torrevieja (Alicante).
