Abstract

Following Herzberg's Theory of the Satisfaction at work, the results obtained in a sample of 87 male and female Spanish bank workers. The Achievement Motive, the Hope of Success, the Perseverance, the Self-esteem, and the Locus of Control are studied as independent variables. The results permit us to conclude that the causes of Satisfaction and Dissatisfaction at work are different, Moreover, the effects of the different independent variables, we have studied, let us conclude that the causes of Satisfaction and Dissatisfaction at work are dependent of the personal variables of the subjects. These results prove, therefore, that the "soft" statements of Herzberg's theory are the ones that seem fix the empirical world.
