Resumo
This essay reflects upon how philosophy and the university fit together. Speaking from the standpoint of the commitment that every academic professes for the truth, it criticises that, in several institutions in the fields of education and research, some practices betray or show indifference to said commitment. Next, from the determination of the object and fundamental sense of philosophy, it affirms that despite the fact that the latter surpasses the ideal of the university, it must be part of it unless we wish for barbarity. The essay concludes with a defense of the way in which the author considers that philosophy must be taught at university.
