Résumé
The invertebrate paleontology is a useful tool to perform palaeogeographic interpretations. This paper describes how to develop an inclusive activity about this issue applicable in different educational contexts and directed to a diverse audience. By using several complementary workshops allows it is possible to explain kinds of fossils, the fossilization process, the different sedimentary environments, the most common groups of fossil invertebrates from the geological record, and how tectonic (continental drift, for example) and eustatic forces change the continental geography and morphology over time. In this work, the construction of simple palaeogeographic maps is explored using fossils of invertebrate organisms and plants from different Spanish localities whose ages are known. Depending on the type of audience, didactic adaptations have been made and different materials have been implemented to provide insight into the value that fossils of invertebrates have in the development of palaeogeographical maps. The results are very satisfactory showing that in addition to the museums or Science faculties this activity can be carried out in classrooms of any educational center that owns a small collection of fossil whose age and provenance are known
