The strategic analysis of Europe during 2019 must consider the critical impact that populist movements and ideological radicalism, on the one hand, with the threats of jihadist terrorism and cyber-crime, on the other, are causing in European governance. In this regional context, an institutional renewal of the European Union has been carried out, which has reaffirmed the dominance of europeist forces over nationalist and eurosceptic tendencies. This has facilitated the necessary continuity in integration to address the political and economic effects of Brexit and an erratic and conflicting foreign agenda of the US Administration regarding Europe, which is contributing to the paralysis of the Atlantic Alliance. In response to context of regional crisis, the EU has established its priorities for the next five-year period, which includes the development of PESCO as the basis for a common European defense, the renewal of European Neighborhood Policy and necessary change in the constant deterioration that they have suffered the European Union relations with Russia and Turkey
