Résumé

This paper is a study of some the most important research of photography in its social dimension in two ways: web information resources, those sources of information addressed to researchers as the Library of Congress, the Library will be held national of Spain, Reina Sofia Museum and the General Administration Archive (AGA); but also others whose primary purpose is the sale of images, such as international agencies the likes of Getty Images, within which other files like The Life Picture Collection, which includes and provides media included communication practically all the images published in the mythical pictorial. We will also see the case of the prestigious Magnum Photos that being an agency that sells photography also plays an important role for research in this discipline. On the other hand, the issue of digitization will also discuss precisely comparing the main institutions and archives of Spain and the United States. And finally, we discuss the role of social networks (Instagram, Tumblr) especially useful for graphic editor.
