Abstract

E-learning has been a revolution in recent years in the training field. This, combined with the increased use of the mobile devices has caused the emergence of the m-learning. Hence new problems and challenges have appeared in training and new technologies fields, such as showing correctly learning contents in a mobile device that has restricted features or taking into account the learner’s context in the learning process. The posed problem in this work is to build context-aware e-learning systems with adaptation to mobile devices for adapting learning contents to these parameters. For solving this problem, a new multi-agent system is proposed, which is able to adapt learning contents based on learner’s context, competences and mobile device. Based on the designed system, a prototype has been developed and tested in three case studies: one theoretical case and two real cases, with real learners and mobile devices. Results show the proposed system succeeds the three case studies and it is able to solve the posed problem. However, results also indicate it is necessary to continue researching about pedagogical issues and how to integrate these systems in the learning process for improving the academic results
