Résumé

The 20th International Congress of Roman frontier Studies was held in León in September 2006, under the direction of Ángel Morillo Cerdán. The congress was organised by the University of León and supported by numerous scientific institutions. These 3 volumes of proceedings bring together a total of 138 communications describing the latest advances in the understanding of Roman archaeology in relation to the defence and control of the frontiers of the empire. The topics covered at the congress include the internal frontiers, the end of the frontiers and the presence of barbarians in the Empire, the Roman's model of conquest and occupation, the walled city and military fortifications in the late Roman period, troop movements, and the Roman army. It also includes studies focusing on particular geographical sections.
