Abstract
This work constitutes an approximation to the feminine culture of the salon in the French society throughits own protagonists: the so-called salonières. I have focused on Madame Necker, host of one of the most crowded, taking as source the vision and perspective with which they were perceived and analyzed, almost half a century later, by another illustrious hostess, the Duchess of Abrantes, in her classic studies on those who shone in the gallant society of the French capital during the 17th and 18th centuries.
