Resumo

ABSTRACT Continuous publication of case studies in the psychological literature highlights the usefulness of this alternative for communicating results between researchers and practitioners. This article covers recommendations of good practices for writing clinical case studies, case series, and single-case experimental design in clinical psychology in order to improve transparency in the communication of results and increase their odds of being published. These guidelines summarize recommendations from evidence-based psychology and systematic case studies, as well as from current trends in statistical analysis for these types of designs. Sections to be covered, a brief description of the content to be developed in each of them, and the ethical aspects to be taken into account in manuscript preparation are pointed out.
