Abstract
Relevant events compromising global biosecurity have recently occurred. The most significant one has been a new epidemic caused by a virus, called COVID-19, which outbreak has been in China and continues spreading around the world. In addition to this incident, there have been lots of fake or distorted news about a biological warfare program as the origin of the disease. Far from this alleged program, a trade confrontation between Americans and Chinese is really on the scope. Knowledge, raw materials and information technologies are some of the new battlefields where this new conflict is going to be settled.
