Abstract

The images of reporters that cinema offers influence the idea that society has of these professionals. Here is the importance of studying how are these representations. We analyze the image of journalists in some of the films produced in recent years. To do this, we use the models of professional theory that, in most cases, include two to five categories. We also applied the classification drawn by the journalist Juan Carlos Laviana and the one of Joe Saltzman. The latter is a professor at the University of Southern California (USC) and director of the center IJPC (the Image of the Journalist in Popular Culture.) His model, developed specifically for analyzing the image of the journalist in film and TV, is one of the most complete because it expands the number of categories (down a total of 13) and takes into account many aspects.
