Abstract

The main subject of this work is the repercussion that Lucian os Samosata's "Calumnia y Vitarum auctio" had in the literature of the Spanish Golden Age. First of all, each of these texts are introduced by the delimitation of their principal features and the specification of their translators to the Latin language during the reincorporation of Lucían into the Western literature. Then, the Castilian versions that appeared in the lberian Península during the 17th century are detailed. Finally, we shall analyse the translations of Calumnia and Vitarum auctio undertaken by Sancho Bravo de Lagunas, the first Castilian versions of these texts to be printed.
