Abstract
Popular concepts of Occident entail some paradoxes which hide certain non-tangible motivations, truly engines of its History. The tendency to materially descompose the meaningfulness of nature confronts the need to assimilate its purity, virginity, and freedom. This apparent contradiction has been historically solved through an everlasting conquering progression of wilderness civilizing, getting temporally fed by its qualities. As alternative to this dilemma, cultural participation with our ( immediate and far, social and ecological) environments (our needed "mirrors") is proposed, enriching our identities with views from the "others" and taking this way the lead to our own history.
