Carceleras encarceladas. La depuración franquista de las funcionarias de Prisiones de la Segunda República

This work attempts to assess the depth and the implications of the repression suffered by the first section of the female Prison officers in Spain, created by the Prison Director Victoria Kent in 1932, from the Franquist power during the inmediate Post-War (1939-1945). The author holds that the political polarization experienced by this corps during the Civil War resulted in a kind of repression whithout comparison with the previous repression suffered by the Prison chiefs and officers opposed to the Republican regime. Some of them, nevertheless, were rewarded with a proffesional promotion within the Franquist Prison System in return for their services to the Rebel camp during the conflict.
