Résumé

This work attempts to assess the depth and the implications of the repression suffered by the first section of the female Prison officers in Spain, created by the Prison Director Victoria Kent in 1932, from the Franquist power during the inmediate Post-War (1939-1945). The author holds that the political polarization experienced by this corps during the Civil War resulted in a kind of repression whithout comparison with the previous repression suffered by the Prison chiefs and officers opposed to the Republican regime. Exile, imprisonment or even execution was the fate reserved to a great number of female officers that had made clear their support... (Ver más) to Republican Government. Some of them, nevertheless, were rewarded with a proffesional promotion within the Franquist Prison System in return for their services to the Rebel camp during the conflict.
