Análisis de la localización regional de los servicios intensivos en conocimiento a nivel europeo

Resumen

Este trabajo trata de clarificar la tendencia actual en la distribución de los servicios intensivos en conocimiento (KIS) a nivel regional en Europa, debido a su aparición como actores principales en la competitividad regional y local. En primer lugar, se definen los servicios intensivos en conocimiento, sus principales características y funciones, y se plantean algunos de los factores clave que determinan la localización de dichos servicios. En segundo lugar, en base a los datos ofrecidos por la base REGIO de Eurostat, se examina el patrón de concentración de tales servicios avanzados en las diferentes regiones europeas. Finalmente, se analiza econométricamente el efecto que exhiben dichos factores clave, a través de un análisis de regresión multivariante y de un modelo dinámico de datos de panel, sobre la localización de KIS en Europa.
