Abstract
In this paper I would like to connect the World�s process of rationalization created by Modernity and the problem about the sense of reality that happened as a result of that. I want to join here that Disenchantment process with our �dark times�, in words of Hannah Arendt and with the �corrosion of character� named by Richard Sennett. The decline in the public sphere and the dissolution of the relations of mutual social support in Western countries during the past two decades leads us to re-consider the scope of this darkness, of the difficulties in writing a character or a biography, or better, the failure to achieve such a thing at this time. Therefore I would like to link the reflection of Weber, Arendt, Sennett and Nancy in order to consider the real consequences of this crisis of sense once assumed that the reflection on the crisis in the contemporary fits within the limits of reflection about the sense of reality, the structure of the world and the actions that we can undertake it.
