Resum
Eccrine porocarcinoma is a rare malignant tumor of the eccrine sweat glands, but with a relatively high metastatic potential, so that selective sentinel node biopsys (SLNB), may be useful. We report a case of eccrine porocarcinoma in 69-year-old woman who consulted for recurrent epidermal cyst on the back. Total removal of the tumor was performed. Pathologic examination of the surgical specimen revealed the presence of a malignant eccrine poroma. SLNB is performed with involvement of one of the two isolated nodes, so left axillary lymphadenectomy was performed. After surgery postoperative radiotherapy is indicated. The patient is free of disease one year later Our case and the overall analysis support the concept that performing SLNB in malignant eccrine poroma is useful. However, more studies are needed to enhance the effectiveness and cost-effectiveness of this technique in the staging and treatment of this pathology.
