Abstract

The Javier Puerta Museum of Anatomy of the Faculty of Medicine of the Complutense University of Madrid hoards a collection of anatomical figures of wax that had her origin at the end of the 18th century, as part of the Anatomical Cabinet of the College of San Carlos' Surgery of Madrid. With this study we announce the authorship of one of the anatomical pieces of the museum, named Venus de Medicis, across a set of works of which copies remain in the funds of the Historical Library of the same university. The analysis also allows us to go deeply into the technical of the ceroplastia and her importance as way to that facilitated the anatomical study.
