Abstract

The Spanish victory in the Spanish-Moroccan War was remembe-red in the tomb of Leopoldo O’Donnell y Joris, located in the Church of Santa Barbara in Madrid. From its inscriptions, and also from the real and symbolic contents of the monument, the article aims to study the significance of both this relevant figure and the said conflict for the policy of Isabelline Spain.
