Abstract
Fixed orthodontic appliances may be a clinical risk factor in caries and gingivitis apparition. Thus, it’s necessary to carry out an individual preventive program specific to the caries and gingivitis risk level of each patient and general preventive programs to the global of the patients. The prophylactic measures consist in sodium fluoride application, 0.20% chlorhexidine treatment and glass ionomer for band cementation.
