Laburpena

This is a comparative study between two films which share the same plot, a tidal wave, or tsunami, that threatens to destroy the protagonist families of both films. The first one is The Impossible (2012), by Juan Antonio Garcia Bayona; the second one Deluge (1933) by the New Yorker Felix E. Heist which precedes the previous one by eighty years. In both films, all the family members survive the tsunami. However, they differ in how they manoeuvre the desire in their respective stories. In order to explain this difference we have applied Jesus Gonzalez Requena's text theory and psychoanalytical theory
