Resumen
Este artículo ofrece una discusión sobre los aspectos potencialmente positivos y negativos del supuesto rol de los medios sociales como generadores de una nueva esfera pública digital y de un mayor debate y participación política. Utilizamos la clásica distinción entre “apocalípticos” e “integrados” de Umberto Eco como herramienta semiótica conceptual y retórica para enmarcar la discusión en torno a estos temas.
