Abstract

Obsequies, religious and civil celebrations. The Spanish College at Bologna developed an ambitious ceremonial program designed to honor the Hispanic Monarchy from the 16th century, when Charles 5th took in his protection the foundation of Gil of Albornoz. It was aware of the importance of promoting close ties with the kings, due to its particular and privileged position in Italy. For that reason, we will analyze the most notorious ways and events, paying special attention to the ritual under development in this institution.
