Abstract

We review five pleomorphic adenomas of the lacrimal gland consecutively operated on, one of which recurred nine years after its resection. We study the clinical manifestations, role of radiographic examinations, ultrasound and MRI. CT scan and ultrasonographic are usually enough for diagnostico Surgical microdissection with an en block excision is mandatory to avoid recurrence. Incisional biopsy and needle aspiration biopsy are not indicated.
