Abstract

We analyse the results of 36 myectomy plus denervation of the inferior oblique. The mean follow-up was 30,94± 10,82 months. We value the modifications of the overaction of the inferior oblique, the modifications of the V pattern and the evolution of the superior oblique. The myectomy plus denervation modify the overaction of the inferior oblique in 91,70% of the cases. When we realyse solely it doesn't modify the horizontal deviation. The A pattern that appears after surgery is coincident with the overcorrection of the inferior oblique. Based on our results we consider that in severes overactions of the inferior oblique, the myectomy plus denervation is actually the technique of choice.
