Abstract

The paleontological collections represent one of the most important heritages for understanding of ancient ecosystems and sometimes its conservations is a highly complex task. In this study it is proposed the use of storage supports as protection for fossil specimens in order to soften the effect of the environmental conditions. In order to test these effects three models were reproduced based on the storage supports for conservation with the main materials employed in this type of heritage collections. The study of the different models allowed the development of a storage methodology that fits better each of the fossil specimens and isolate them from external agents that could endanger its conservation.
