Abstract

It is not hard to see that, over the last few years, there has been a drift in the subject matter of the research published, and even in the calls made for the preparation of some monographic or scientific publication dossier. And just as there have not been many methodological changes, it seems that the methodological spectrum has been systematically impoverished, in terms of the object of research there has been a deep crisis caused by the change of technological reference. In other words, there is an increasing scarcity of studies dedicated to the products of mass culture (cinema, comics, photography, advertisements, etc.) and a proliferation of data analyses: not cinema, but the number of tickets sold; not comics, but published copies; not photography, but image banks; not advertisements, but investment data. This is fine, if it were not indicative, in turn, of a certain social drift.
