Abstract

We analyse the structure of the Panero family from a documentary directed by Jaime Chávarri El Desencanto (1976). This film can be considered as an example of the emerging conflict within families experienced in the generation of the Spanish transition. With the death of Francisco Franco in 1975, a change of era began. The generation that lived that moment experienced the fall of the father figure within the context of the collapse of any mythical narrative. However, some of this legacy is preserved in the cultivation of the poetic word.
